{there once was a girl who blogged here...}

10.07.2011

I'm lame. Like seriously lame. I LOVE blogging, but somehow my life takes over and it becomes less and less of a priority. And the longer I'm away, the easier it is to stay away. After awhile it's almost painful to think about coming back. No one is still reading...except for you Chris ;) So I'll just talk to myself for awhile....I totally deserve that for neglecting my pretty blog for so long!

So I'm not sure exactly what keeps me so busy that I can't blog. I feel like I spend hours a day in front of a computer screen of some sort...iMac, iPhone, iPad...all with the capability to blog! But alas, grad school projects and research do take up a decent amount of said computer time. I really can't complain because I'm quite enjoying both of my classes this semester! My love of epidemiology definitely makes me rather nerdy, but I don't care a bit. I'm proud to be a super nerd ;) The complete satisfaction I feel when investigating fictional disease outbreaks is worth all the time spent in front of a computer screen!

In other news, Miss Kaitlyn is back in school. She goes three days a week now and she's doing so well! She goes in and puts her stuff away, hugs me bye, washes her hands by herself and doesn't pinch out a single tear. Not a single one! I'm amazed at how much she's actually enjoying school! Sadly, she's developed a bit of an attitude, but it seems to be the norm for girls her age. Norm or not...I'm working hard to help her lose the attitude! I'm determined my child will not the be snotty teenager who rebels against all authority!

Our little puppy Gracie is growing up and seems to be calming down very slightly. I'm hoping this trend will continue as she ages. She is obsessed with chewing things up...Kaitlyn's toys, the bottom corners of my recliner, the fireplace door handles and now the piping on my couch! Naughty little dog! I buy her little doggie toys, but she chews through ropes and plastic ones in about 2.5 seconds. For a 13lb dog she has insane chomping power! My other two puppies continue to age and have slowed down considerably...I'm really dreading the day when they have to leave us. I can't even imagine what my life would be like without them. We've had them for 9 and 7 years...they were my babies before Kaitlyn. ;( I'm definitely NOT ready for them to move on. Hopefully that day will remain in the future for awhile yet.

As I sit here typing, I'm reminded of how much I love to share my thoughts with the blogosphere...even when no one is reading there is something strangely comforting about documenting your life in text. Hopefully if Miss Kaitlyn ever reads it she won't think her momma is too crazy! So for about the bagillionth time I'm going to pledge to be a better blogger...let's hope I can stick to it!!

I'm off to spend time with the fam before I work this weekend. I'm really hoping for an uneventful weekend! Til next time...

Hey - we all get it. Don't stress about it! Life does tend to get in the way... :)

Keep your chin up and hang in there. The puppy won't stay a puppy forever...and Kaitlyn sure is growing up fast!
